Chrissy Teigen had jaws dropping at Sunday’s American Music Awards ceremony — if not for the stunning gown she wore, then for the wardrobe malfunction she experienced.
The supermodel arrived on the red carpet in a breathtaking black Yousef Akbar gown, which featured splits up to her ribcage. The design incorporated gold safety pins, which were intended to keep Teigen’s nether regions covered but were ultimately thwarted by the breeze.
While the incident spurred some social media users to criticize Teigen for going commando and being "unladylike," Teigen had an unflinching response ready. "I am pretty sure you could clearly see I’m a lady," she quipped.
Of course, genitals don’t define a woman any more than stereotypes about comportment but for the purposes of this scenario, we’ll allow it.
Teigen later posted to Instagram, offering her "apologies to anyone harmed mentally or physically by my hooha" and acknowledging her glam squad as well as SEV Laser Aesthetics, the laser hair removal center that ensured there wasn’t anything to see when the wind blew.
