Like Tiwa Savage dominates the music scene, Agbani Darego continues to rule the beauty industry more than a decade after she won the Miss World beauty pageant. Yesterday, the 33-year-old shared a new selfie and it hit home that the University of Port Harcourt graduate has not aged a day and continues to stay regal years after she brought the pageant world’s highest honour home. There are so many beauty competitions in the country, dozens of which are poorly managed.
Also, the top pageants like the Miss Nigeria and the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition have recently been heavily criticised for poor administration, planning, management, and publicity. The damages done to the once revered institution seems irredeemable, hence why a Twitter user Funmiosa wrote, this January: “Only time Nigeria ever got any beauty competition right was with Agbani Darego.
