NEYMAR LEADS BRAZIL TO FIRST EVER OLYMPICS MEN’S FOOTBALL GOLD

Barcelona’s forward Neymar captained Brazil to their first ever Olympics men’s soccer gold medal in Rio.

The Brazilian Olympics squad defeated Germany 5-4 on penalties to victory.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is the host city of 2016 Summer Olympics – and it is the first time South America country has hosted the competition.

Neymar put Brazil ahead with his 27th minute strike in their Olympics soccer final against Germany at the Maracanã stadium in front of over 63k spectators.

The goal was equaled in the second half when Max Meyer of Germany sent the ball into the bottom left corner of post, leaving goalkeeper Weverton helpless.

On Friday August 19, Germany’s women’s team had won gold for the first time, beating Sweden 2-1 in the final.
