RIHANNA TO RECEIVE MTV’S VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD: HER MUSIC BY THE NUMBERS

Rihanna will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
The award, which is MTV’s highest honor, will honor RiRi for her decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy.
Previous winners include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beyoncé, Kanye West and Britney Spears. “Honored to take the #VMAs stage as your video #VANGUARD award recipient LIVE from NYC on August 28!” she tweeted after the news broke.
In honor of Rihanna’s big award, E! News is looking back at some of the R&B star’s most impressive statistics:
2: The number of Video of the Year awards Rihanna has won at the VMAs. She took home the coveted award for “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” and she’s the only female artist to win twice.
3: The total number of awards she has won at the VMAs. She is nominated for four more awards at this year’s show for “Work” with Drake and “This Is What You Came for” with Calvin Harris, so the number can easily increase.
4: The number of songs Drake and RiRi worked on together.
4: The number of music videos in which Rihanna appears naked.
6: The number of videos in which Rihanna has fiery red hair.
6: The number of Rihanna’s music videos Melina Mastoukas has directed.
8: The number of Grammys Rihanna has taken home.
12: The total number of awards Rihanna has won for her music videos from various awards shows.
14: The number of No. 1 singles she’s had on the Billboard Hot 100.
14: Also the number of Billboard Music Awards she has to her name.
61: The total number of collaborations RiRi has done with other musicians, including Drake, Kanye West, Chris Brown and more.
With numbers like that, it’s not a surprise MTV would bestow such an honor on her! Make sure to tune-in to the 2016 MTV VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
