JAY Z DECLARES THE WAR ON DRUGS ‘AN EPIC FAIL’ IN NEW YORK TIMES OPED

Usually not one to ‘offend his political connects’ as he said on his 2009 track ‘Death of Autotune’, hip hop legend Jay Z speaks on his country’s war on drugs and labels it ‘an epic fail that targets black people for doing the same thing that white Americans get rich for.’

In a poignant and very innovative four-minute animated video, Jay Z narrates the progression of the war on drugs from the Ronald Reagan era, when he himself was a drug dealing teenager, to present day drug laws that enable rich white businessmen to exploit legislation at the expense of poor black youths.
