OLAMIDE, WIZKID BATTLE OTHER AFRICAN STARS FOR ‘BEST AFRICAN ACT’ NOD AT THE 2016 EMAS

As year-end award ceremonies come thick and fast, Wizkid continues to feature on every nominees list – which comes as no surprise.

Again, Starboy has been acknowledged for his phenomenal year by getting nominated in the forthcoming 2016 MTV EMAs – a European version of MTV Africa Music Award (MAMA).

Slugging it out for the ‘Best African Act’ are Nigeria’s Wizkid and Olamide, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and Black Coffee, and Tanzania’s Ali Kiba.

Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa, Alex Okosi stated, ‘It is wonderful to see African artistes nominated at the 2016 MTV EMAs on the same platform as global superstars of the calibre of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Drake, Kanye West and more.’

The award ceremony will be broadcast live around the world from Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sunday, November 6.
