RUSSIA 2018: IHEANACHO, IWOBI SCORE AS NIGERIA BEAT ZAMBIA
Nigeria has started the journey to the Russia 2018 World Cup on a winning note on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
The Super Eagles scored two goals to outclass their Chipolopolo hosts, as Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho found the net in the first 45 minutes.
The Zambians rallied at the restart but were unable to complete a comeback in front of their home fans, as Nigeria’s Super Eagles came away with a 2-1 win.
Nigeria now sits on top of Group B of the African qualifying section with three points. Zambia are bottom with no points.
Cameroon and Algeria, the two other nations in the group, play later tonight.
Whoever wins the group qualifies for the FIFA 2018 World Cup scheduled to hold in Russia. There are four other African groups as only five teams can qualify from the continent.
