MESSI DEMOTED ON FIFA 17, CRISTIANO RONALDO’S TOP DOG
The fierce rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has shifted into the gaming arena as the Barcelona talisman was recently replaced as the best player on FIFA 17 by the Real Madrid superstar.
Messi, who has reigned supreme on the elite game in the past recently took a knock to his stats, going down one point on the new release to 93, despite those of many other players being boosted, Goal writes.
Argentine maestro is no longer the cover star of the game, having swapped his allegiances to Pro Evolution Soccer 2017, FIFA’s rival, which could explain new power configuration.
This translates into more good news for Ronaldo, whose latest exploits with Real Madrid and Portugal have seen his rating climb to 94, the highest of any player.
CR7 will now be the most coveted player on the game – just as he likes it – unless of course to Barca and to an extent, Atletico Madrid fans.
Coming behind the obvious top two is Messi’s Barcelona teammate Neymar, who, early this year joined the titans on the podium for the Fifa ballon d’Or award.
The 24 year-old, who recently inspired Brazil to a long-overdue Olympic gold medal in Rio, has a FIFA rating of 92.
