Nigerian music lovers are about to experience a new wave of mind blowing music, if Reekado Banks‘ confident declaration about his debut album being ‘the best in 10 years‘ is anything to go by.
The first album from a group of young talents referred to as ‘Mavin 2.0’ (comprising Reeky, Di’Ja and Korede Bello) has dropped and it is from none other than the 2015 Headies ‘Next Rated’ winner.
Released today, September 1, Reeky will be hoping to leave a lasting impression on Nigerian music with Spotlight and stake his claim as one of the music industry’s future top artistes.
Previously released singles, ‘Katapot’, ‘Oluwa Ni’ and ‘Standard’ are all included on the 21-track album that has Mavin Records‘ in-house producers (Don Jazzy, Altims and Babyfresh) primarily handling production.
Among his peers, Reekado is already tailing a fine line of becoming one of the music industry’s leading voices with a smooth delivery skill and listeners will be keen to hear how he balances that with an impressive lyrical narrative.
